Taarnvægtersang
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Our translations:  FRE
Nu er det Nat,
Og Skellet, som blev sat
Af Gud vor Herre, inden Tiden blev.
Imellem Lysets klare Sø
Og Mulmets mørke Hav,
Det Skel er flyttet fra sin Grund --
Kun for en Stund,
Vel tør vi ydmygt haabe.

End glimter i det fjerne Vest
Et Skær fra Lysets tætte Vande,
Men de er stædt ej, heller fæst
Og ville brat henrinde.

I Folk i Borg og Fæste,
I, som paa Veje færdes,
Og I paa salten Sø,
Tager til at bede.
Inden Dagens Møde
Brat faar Overhaand.

1 tage til at lede
Jere Tanker fra Hus og Hjem
I lade jert Hjerte drive
Dem imod Himlen frem.
Thi Herren er god og miskundelig
Nu og evindelig.

Herre, nu komme de
Gode og Onde,
Syge og Sunde,
I Raab og Tale,
I Suk og i Korsets
Hellige Tegn.
Du høre dem alle efter din Naade,
Bønhøre dem efter din Vilje,
Du lade dem kristeligen bede !
