7. Lied der Lerche  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Am Morgen ging ich über Feld
Den kahlen Wald entlang;
Im Winterschlaf noch lag die Welt,
Nur eine Lerche sang.

Das klang so frisch, so wunderklar,
Rings durch den öden Raum!
Ich stand und träumte wunderbar
Den schönsten Frühlingstraum.

Text Authorship:

  • by Adolf Schults (1820 - 1858), no title, appears in Frühlingsfeier, in Lerchen-Lieder, no. 1

See other settings of this text.

Confirmed with Adolf Schults, Gedichte, dritte vermehrte Auflage, Iserlohn: Julius Bädeker, 1857. Appears in Frühlingsfeier, in Lerchen-Lieder, no. 1, page 20.

Note: the Rob. Forberg publisher's catalog erroneously lists the author of the text as being by "Falkland".
