Drei Gesänge für Männerchor , opus 5

by Hermann Kretzschmar (1848 - 1924)

1. Abend   [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Sehet, es kehret der Abend uns wieder,
Dämmernde Wolken geleiten ihn her,
Himmel und Erde hinauf und hernieder
Waltet ein heilig geheimer Verkehr.

Sterne, ihr Blumen des Himmels, ihr winket,
Blumen, ihr Sterne der Erde, ihr lauscht,
Duftig die Strenge der Schranken versinket,
Sehnende Liebe hat alles berauscht.

Götter entsenden in ähnlichen Stunden
Segnende Boten im Menschengewand -
Heil, wer den Gast in der Hülle gefunden
Und ihn an leuchtenden Spuren erkannt.
