[Um]1 der Berge blauem Scheitel 
Leiser Hauch die Dämm'rung webt, 
Ferner Abendglockenläuten 
Durch die stillen Nachtluft schwebt. 
Eine einz'ge Wolke segelt 
Dort umhüllt vom letzten Gold 
Und mir ist's, als ob sie Frieden 
Segnend niederthauen sollt.  

Nun der letzte Schein verglommen 
Und der letzte Laut verhallt  --  
Plaudern nur die Wasser leise 
Und im Traume spricht der Wald. 
Herzensruhe, Himmelssegen, 
Die verloren lang' geglaubt: 
Alles findest hier du wieder,  
Was die Welt dir hat geraubt.
