2. Fernes Klingen  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Hört ihr's nicht klingen?...
Leis -- ganz leis? -- --

Text Authorship:

  • by Wilhelm Conrad Gomoll (1877 - 1951), "Fernes Klingen", appears in Welt und Ich, in 1. Seele

3. Holde Nacht, wie still bist du  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Holde Nacht, wie still bist du, wie still!
Drunten fließen ruhelos die Wogen,
Kommt ein Lichtlein noch heraufgezogen,
Das in seinen Hafen will.

Ach, mein Sinn ist wundersam bewegt --
Wer sein armes, armes Herz begriffen,
Möchte gerne in bekränzten Schiffen
Dorthin, wo man alles schlafen legt.

Hell und heller grüßt der Sterne Schein,
Und mir ist, als ob es Frühling werde...
Überm Heimwehland der dunkeln Erde,
Ach, wie tief muß da der Friede sein!

Text Authorship:

  • by Martin Boelitz (1874 - 1918), "Nacht in Kreuznach", appears in Hundert Gedichte, first published 1922

4. O Blätter, dürre Blätter  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
[O]1 Blätter, dürre Blätter!
[Wie]2 trauert ihr so sehr!
Als ihr noch gabet grünen Schein —
Da war mein lieber Schatz noch mein,
Den hab' ich nimmermehr.

O Blätter, dürre Blätter!
[Ihr]3 habt ihn oft gesehn,
[Wie]4 er [mir Treu geschworen]5 hat —
Ach! kann [denn]6 Liebe wie ein Blatt
In einem Jahr vergehn?

O Blätter, dürre Blätter!
[Es]7 war ein falscher Knab'.
Euch klag' ich es, ihr schweiget still —
Wie lieb ich ihn noch hab'.

Text Authorship:

  • by (Karl) Ludwig Pfau (1821 - 1894), no title, appears in Gedichte [1847], in 3. Lieder und Stimmen, in Mädchenlieder, no. 11
