by Ferdinand Schulz (1821 - 1897)

1. Veilchen  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Veilchen, wie so schweigend,
Wie so still dich neigend
In das grüne Moos!
Veilchen, sag was sinnst du,
Sag mir, was beginnst du,
Scheinst so freudenlos?

„Laß mich! still und bange
Lausch' ich dem Gesange
Jener Nachtigall.
Wenn sie singt, so schweig' ich,
Wenn sie singt, so neig' ich
Ihrem Sang und Schall.”

Text Authorship:

  • by August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben (1798 - 1874), "Veilchen", appears in Kinderlieder
