Wie so öde sind die Gassen, Und die Luft ist stumm und schwer; Meine Heimath muß ich lassen, Seh' sie nun und nimmermehr. Einmal noch in heißem Sehnen Wendet rückwärts sich der Blick, Einmal noch mit stummen Thränen Schau' ich in das Thal zurück. Lebe wohl! aus fernen Gassen Wehet noch ein Tüchlein her. Meine Heimath muß ich lassen, Seh' sie nun und nimmermehr.
