2. Die junge Ehe  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
O presse deine Hand in meine Hand,
Beschreiten wir das unbekannte Land.
Ob blühend uns vielleicht ein Baum
Zum Schlummer lädt am Waldessaum.

O Palme, schöner als wie je gewußt,
Und wir schlummern Brust an Brust.
O Welle, sanfter als je belauscht,
Und wir entschlafen tief berauscht.

Als uns das erste süße Morgenrot
Am Himmel den milden Gruß entbot,
Von der Insel her ein Glockenspiel
Selig plaudernd in unsern Dämer fiel.

Du tiefes Glück!
Du tiefes Glück!
Wir gingen Hand in Hand
Leise lächelnd ins unbekannte Land!
