Drum wein ich,
Daß bei deinem Kuß
Ich so nichts empfinde
Und ins Leere versinken muß.
Tausend Abgründe
Sind nicht so tief,
Wie diese große Leere.
Ich sinne im engsten Dunkel der Nacht,
Wie ich dirs ganz leise sage,
Doch ich habe nicht den Mut.
Ich wollte, es käme ein Südenwind,
Der dirs herübertrage,
Damit es nicht gar voll Kälte kläng
Und er dirs warm in die Seele säng
Kaum merklich durch dein Blut.
