Lyrische Gedichte, op. 7

by Heinrich Friedrich von Saint-Julien (1801 - 1844)

1. Mein Herz und mein Saitenspiel
 (Sung text)

Language: German (Deutsch)
Dir geb' ich, ach, es ist nicht viel,
was mein ist, all mein Licht,
dies Herz und dieses Saitenspiel;
was mein ist, all mein Licht,
dies Herz und dieses Saitenspiel;
mehr, ach, mehr hab' ich nicht!
 ...

Kann Lieb' und Sang verbannen nie
des Lebes Wolken ganz,
vorbei doch leichter gehen sie,
und steh'n sie, ist's in Glanz.
Wenn durch des Lebens Harfe reißt
der Sorge Misston roh,
spielt Liebe d'rauf, der zarte Geist,
klingt alles wieder froh.

Dir geb' ich, ach, es ist nicht viel,
was mein ist, all mein Licht,
dies Herz und dieses Saitenspiel;
mehr, ach, mehr hab' ich nicht!
 ...

2. Lied
 (Sung text)

Language: German (Deutsch)
Blau warum das Firmament?
Zu gleichen deines Aug's Azur.
Rot warum die Rose brennt?
Erröten will wie du die Flur.
Was die Liebe schuf voll Zier,
gleichen sollt' es all nur dir.

Schnee, so schneeweiß wär' er nicht,
wärst du nicht Schwanenbusen hold.
Warum glänzt der Sonne Licht?
Es neidet deiner Locken Gold.
Was die Liebe schuf voll Glanz,
gleichen sollt' es dir nur ganz.

Warum preist man die Natur?
Weil dein Bildnis strahlt in ihr.
Schmilzt Musik das Herz, ist's nur,
weil sie Stimme borgt von dir.
Was die Liebe süß erdacht,
dir ist alles gleich gemacht.
