   De dertele Sater,
De boksvoet vast hippelt,
Langs d' oevers van 't water,
En beitelt, en trippelt
Met alle zijn vrijsters,
Die zingen als lijsters.
Het veld is vol vreugd.
O vrolijk leven! o zoete jeugd!

   O wrede vriendinne,
Wie kan u bewegen?
Hoe trouw ik u minne,
In hagel en regen,
Gij vlucht even vlugge,
En biedt me den rugge.
Ik jammer ontsteld:
Geen klachten baten: mijn leven smelt.
