Los versos de la maestra, op. 14

Song Cycle by José Enrique González Medina (b. 1954)

1. Vergüenza  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: Spanish (Español)
Si tú me miras, yo me vuelvo hermosa
como la hierba a que bajó el rocío,
y desconocerán mi faz gloriosa
las altas cañas cuando baje al río.

Tengo vergüenza de mi boca triste,
de mi voz rota y mis rodillas rudas.
Ahora que me miraste y que viniste,
me encontré pobre y me palpé desnuda.

Ninguna piedra en el camino hallaste
más desnuda de luz en la alborada
que esta mujer a la que levantaste,
porque oíste su canto, la mirada.

Yo callaré para que no conozcan
mi dicha los que pasan por el llano,
en el fulgor que da a mi frente tosca
y en la tremolación que hay en mi mano...

   Es noche y baja a la hierba el rocío;
mírame largo y habla con ternura,
¡que ya mañana al descender al río
la que besaste llevará hermosura!

8. El aire  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: Spanish (Español)
En el llano y la llanada
de salvia y menta salvaje,
encuentro como esperándome
el Aire.

Giran redondo, en un niño
desnudo y voltijeante,
y me toma y arrebata
por su madre.

Mis costados coge enteros,
por cosa de su donaire,
y mis ropas entregadas
por casales...

Silba en áspid de las ramas
o empina los matorrales;
o me para los alientos
como un Ángel.

Pasa y repasa en helechos
y pechugas inefables,
que son gaviotas y aletas
de Aire.

Lo tomo en una brazada;
cazo y pesco, palpitante,
ciega de plumas y anguilas
del Aire...

A lo que hiero no hiero
o lo tomo sin lograrlo,
aventando y cazando
en burlas de Aire...

Cuando camino de vuelta,
por encinas y pinares,
todavía me persigue
el Aire.

Entro en mi casa de piedra
con los cabellos jadeantes,
ebrios, ajenos y duros
del Aire.

En la almohada, revueltos,
no saben apaciguarse,
y es cosa, para dormirme,
de atarles..

Hasta que él allá se cansa
como un albatros gigante,
o una vela que rasgaron
parte a parte.

Al amanecer, me duermo
-cuando mis cabellos caen-
como la madre del hijo,
rota del Aire...
