Ich saß in [finstrer]1 Trauer, mir war das Herz so schwer,
da kam aus dunkler Ferne einsam ein Stern daher.
Er glänzt wie eine Träne, die stille Sehnsucht weint
die wie ein Blick der Hoffnung aus treuen Augen scheint.
Den lichten Friedensboten, ich hab' ihn wohl erkannt:
Herzlieb, aus weiter Ferne hast du den Stern gesandt?
