O laß mich nur von ferne stehn

Ich habe nichts, [was]3 dich gewinnt.
O, wär' ich doch ein Königssohn
Und du ein arm', [verlor'nes]4 Kind!

1. Amor mendicant
Language: Catalan (Català)
Oh, deixa’m tan sols restar al lluny
i aferrar-me en silenci al teu esguard;
tu ets tan jove, tu ets tan bella,
dels teus ulls somriu la felicitat.
I jo sóc tan pobre, ja tant fatigat,
no tinc res que pugui atraure’t.
Oh, si tan sols fos el fill d’un rei
i tu un pobre infant perdut!

2. Die Nachtigall   [sung text not yet checked]
by Uso Seifert (1852 - 1912), "Die Nachtigall ", op. 11 (Zwei Gedichte für 1 Singstimme mit Pianofortebegleitung) no. 2, published 1890 [ voice and piano ], Dresden, Hoffarth
Language: German (Deutsch)
[Das]1 macht, es hat die Nachtigall
Die ganze [Nacht]2 gesungen;
Da sind von ihrem süssen Schall,
Da sind [in]3 Hall und Widerhall
Die [Rosen]4 aufgesprungen.

Sie war doch sonst ein wildes [Kind]5,
[Nun]6 geht sie [tief]7 in Sinnen,
Trägt in der Hand den Sommerhut
Und duldet [still]8 der Sonne Glut
Und weiß nicht, was beginnen.

Das macht, es hat die Nachtigall
Die ganze Nacht gesungen;
Da sind von ihrem süssen Schall,
Da sind [in]3 Hall und Widerhall
Die [Rosen]4 aufgesprungen.

2. El rossinyol
Language: Catalan (Català)
Això és perquè el rossinyol
ha cantat tota la nit;
a causa del seu dolç cant,
i per el seu so i ressò,
han florit les roses.

Ella era abans una noia feréstega,
i ara reblerta de seny,
porta a la mà el barret d'estiu,
suportant en silenci la xardor del sol,
sense saber ben bé què fer.

Això és perquè el rossinyol
ha cantat tota la nit;
a causa del seu dolç cant,
i per el seu so i ressò,
han florit les roses.
