by Karl Stieler (1842 - 1885)

Jägerlied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wie ich dereinst zu Walde zog
So will ich wieder ziehen,
Ich hab' sein blühendes Laubgewog
Vergessen vor deinem Blühen!
Nun schweif' ich [einsam]1 durchs Geäst,
Will wieder vom Bergquell trinken;
Der scheue Häher streift [ums]2 Nest,
Die [güldenen]3 Blätter blinken.

Da lieg' ich stumm und wundersam
In all dem Rauschen und Klingen,
Das Eichhorn huscht am braunen Stamm,
Wind weht und Vögel singen -- --
Und wundersam so manche Weil'
Gedenk ich an [dein]4 Lieben;
In meinem Köcher fehlt ein Pfeil --
Wo ist der Pfeil geblieben?
