by Franz Alfred Muth (1839 - 1890)

Herbstlied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Blaue Luft kommt von den Bergen
leise, leise in die Welt;
[Glocken grüßen, und die]1 Lerchen
rufen selig übers Feld.

Wie ein Frühlingstag gelinde
ist es heut' in Feld und Hag;
leise rauscht der Baum im Winde
zu des Bächleins Wellenschlag.

Wenn die Blätter nur nicht mählich
wehten in das weite Land,
und die [Vögel wanderselig]2
ihre Schwingen ausgespannt!
