Nun, da so warm der Sonnenschein,
Und da so mild die Lüfte wehn,
Nun mußt du aus dem Kämmerlein
Auch fein zum grünen Walde gehn.

Und hörst in wunderhellem Schlag
Frohlocken du ein Vögelein,
So lausch' ihm recht, daß er dir sag',
Warum es mag so fröhlich sein.

Und siehst du wo im Dornenreis
Ein einsam Blümlein aufgethaut,
Um dessen Glanz der Herr nur weiß,
Da mach' dich recht mit ihm vertraut!

Und was dir sagt das Vögelein,
Und wie das Blümlein mit dir spricht:
Trag's heim, und leg's in deinen Schrein!
Und, liebes Kind, verlier' es nicht!
