Gott sorgt für mich! Was helfen meine Sorgen?
Jehova ist ein treuer Hirt,
der mir, erleb' ich ja den Morgen,
Nichts mangeln lassen wird.

Er leitet mich auf segenreiche Auen,
führt mich zu lauter'n Quellen hin.
Soll ich nicht seiner Huld vertrauen?
Ihm weih' ich Herz und Sinn!

Er gibt mir Kraft, wenn meine Füße wanken,
und zeigt mir bald den rechten Pfad.
Er stillt mein Herz durch den Gedanken:
„Bei Gott ist Rat und Tat!“

Mit ihm will ich durch Tal des Todes wallen;
in Finsternis ist er mein Licht.
Mein Stab ist er; wie kann ich fallen?
der Herr verlässt mich nicht!

Sein Wort erquickt des Pilgers müde Seele;
er ruft an seine Tafel mich.
Salbt Gott mein Haupt mit Freudenöle,
so schämt mein Hasser sich.

Mich krönt sein Heil, so lang' ich noch hinieden
ein Wand'rer bin! Ihm folg' ich gern.
Dort aber tönt im ew'gen Frieden
mein Saitenspiel dem Herrn!
