by (Johann Christoph) Friedrich Haug (1761 - 1829)

Walzlied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Hört ihr den schwäbischen Wirbeltanz?
Lirum trallarum! Herbei!
Mag ein pedantischer Firlefanz
Rufen sein Ach! und sein Ei!

Jünglinge! Schwebet im Takte hin:
Fliegt den melodischen Flug,
Bis euch die glühende Tänzerin
Lispelt ein mattes: Genug!

O der unnennbaren Seligkeit
Unter dem Hörnergetön
Traulich in süßer Umschlungenheit
Sich, wie die Sphären, zu drehn!

Krittler, verdammt den Erfinder nicht!
Denn ihr verdammt die – Natur!
Singet dem Walzer ein Lobgedicht,
Aber – dem langsamen nur!
