by Clément Marot (1496 - 1544)

Ô mon Dieu ! qu'elle estoit contente
Language: Middle French
Second
Il est vray : mais tu doibs sçauoir
Que tousiours à ces grandz iournées
Les femmes sont mieulx attournées
Qu'aux aultres iours : & cela tente.
O mon Dieu, qu'elle estoit contente
De sa personne, ce iour là !
Auecques la grace qu'elle a,
Elle vous auoit vn corset
D'vn fin bleu, lassé d'vn lasset
Iaulne, qu'elle auoit faict expres.
Elle vous auoit puis apres
Mancherons d'escarlatte verte,
Robe de pers large & ouuerte
(I'entends à l'endroict des tetins),
Chausses noires, petits patins,
Linge blanc, ceincture houppée,
Le chapperon faict en poupée,
Les cheueulx en passetillon,
Et l'oeil gay en esmerillon,
Soupple & droicte comme vne gaule.
En effect, sainct Françoys de Paule,
Et le plus sainct Italien,
Eust esté prins en son lien,
S'a la veoir se fust amusé.
