by Siegfried August Mahlmann (1771 - 1826)

Ich denke Dein

Confirmed with Zeitung für die elegante Welt, neunter Jahrgang, ed. by August Mahlmann, Leipzig: Georg Voß, 1809, pages 1990 - 1991. Appears in issue no. 249, dated 15 December 1809.

Note (provided by Melanie Trumbull): for centuries, publishers and catalog editors have presented this song's lyric author as "A. Mahknann", but this is a typo. The poem also appears to have been left out of S. August Mahlmann's collected and complete works. The poem was first published in the periodical of which the author was also the editor at the time.
