Offene Arme und pochende Brust
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT ENG
Offene Arme und pochende Brust,
Herzen voll Hoffnung und Träume voll Lust,
  Willst Du es wagen?
  Kannst Du es tragen?
Was wie des Himmels Unendlichkeit
Mit allen Sternen so hoch und weit, --
  Liebesseligkeit?

Siehst Du nicht auf des Auges Grund,
Fühlst Du nicht auf dem brennenden Mund
  Heißes Verlangen?
  Beben und Bangen?
Hauchet der Athem nicht: gieb! o gieb
Eines und Alles dem Liebsten zu Lieb,
  Was Dir noch blieb?

Wenn ich Dich frage: bist Du auch mein?
Über die Lippen nicht bringst Du das Nein!
  Wunsch ist Beginnen
  Ohne Besinnen,
Nimm mich! o nimm mich! so flüsterst Du leis,
Und was Liebe von Liebe weiß,
  Dein ist der Preis!

Zauberisch strömet der Seelen Erguß
Über und über im minnigen Kuß!
  Will uns das Leben
  Wonnig verschweben?
Alles versinket in brausender Fluth,
Da wir in weltvergessener Gluth
  Schwelgend geruht.
