from Volkslieder (Folksongs)

Den liebsten Buhlen, den ich han
Language: German (Deutsch)
Den liebsten Buhlen, den ich han,
er leit beim Wirt im Keller;
er hat ein hölzern Röcklein an
und heisst der Muskateller.
Er hat mich nächtens trunken g'macht
und fröhlich heut den ganzen Tag,
Gott, geb ihm heint ein gute Nacht!

Von diesem Buhlen, den ich mein',
will ich dir bald eins bringen,
es sei der allerbeste Wein,
macht lustig mich zu singen,
frischt mir das Blut, gibt freien Mut,
all's durch sein Kraft und Eigenschaft.
Nu grüss dich Gott, mein Rebensaft!
