Wie flüchtig rinnt die Stunde, Da in verschwieg'ner Glut Sich neiget Mund zu Munde, Und Herz am Herzen ruht! Der Mond hört auf zu scheinen, Kühl geht des Morgens Hauch - Kurz Lachen, langes Weinen, Das ist der Liebe Brauch. Und doch, wiewohl sie Leiden Allzeit zum Lohne gibt, Nie mag von Liebe scheiden, Wer einmal recht geliebt. Er trägt die heißen Schmerzen Viel lieber in der Brust, Als dass er nie im Herzen Von solchem Glück gewusst.
