by Friedrich Rückert (1788 - 1866)

Hier wo vom kühlen Schleier
Language: German (Deutsch)
Hier wo vom kühlen Schleier
Des Ahorns überwebt,
Am grünumschilften Weiher
Die Moosbank sich erhebt;

Wo aus des Weihers Spiegel
Der Abendhimmel glüht,
Und still der Eichenhügel
Aus Duft herüber sieht;

Hier sitz' ich und es wanken
In Zefirs leisem Wehn
Um mich die Blüthenranken
Mit flüsterndem Getön.

O Schätzchen, dem verlangend
Mein Herz entgegen schlägt,
O sieh, wie traut umfangend
Mich dieses Örtchen hegt.

O komm, geliebtes Schätzchen,
Und ruhe du bei mir,
So ist das schönste Plätzchen
Des schönen Gartens hier.

Confirmed with Gesammelte Gedichte von Friedrich Rückert. Zweiter Theil. Frankfurt am Main. Druck und Verlag von Johann David Sauerländer. 1843, page 36. Note: in many older editions, the spelling of the word "Örtchen" becomes "Oertchen", but as can be seen in how "über" becomes "Ueber" when capitalized, this is due to the printing process and not to rules of orthography, so we use "Örtchen".
