Auf der Hochzeit zu Canaan

Language: German (Deutsch)
Auf der Hochzeit zu Canaan,
Da fing der Wein zu fehlen an.
Wie's nun geschah:
Ob's Braut, ob's Bräutigam versah?
Es war zu wenig da! --

Doch der Herr mit zu Tische war,
Und machte Wein aus Wasser klar.
Wie das geschah?
Ich glaube, daß es niemand sah;
Genug, nun war er da.

Nehmt ihr Christen es wohl in Acht:
Aus Wasser ward da Wein gemacht;
Wie wundernswerth!
Euch Schenken hat's der Feind gelehrt,
Ihr macht es umgekehrt! --
