Wie kühl der Felsen dunkelt Hernieder in den Rhein! Kein Strahl der Sonne funkelt Im grünen Wasserschein. Es kommt im Windesweben Ein Gruß der Märchenzeit -- Wie fern von hier das Leben! Die Welt wie weit von hier, wie weit! In dieser Schattenkühle Der Einsamkeit im Schooß, Wird alles was ich fühle So still, so klar, so groß.
