In des Irtisch weiße Fluten

Language: German (Deutsch)
In des Irtisch weiße Fluten
Misch ich karge Thränen hier,
Und des Nordlicht's feur'ge Ruthen
Flimmern blutig über mir!
Unter diesem ew'gen Eise
Schlummert schon ein treues Herz,
Nur in dem gebeugten Greise
Brennt immer noch der alte Schmerz!
Und von thränennassen Stufen
Steig' ich langsam in die Gruft -
Und ich darf den Tod nicht rufen,
Weil ein hülflos Kind mir ruft!
