Como el ciervo huiste,
habiéndome herido;
salí tras ti, clamando, y ya eras ido.

  Pastores, los que fuerdes
allá, por las majadas, al otero,
si por ventura vierdes
a aquél que yo más quiero,
decidle que adolezco, peno y muero.

  Buscando mis amores,
iré por esos montes y riberas;
ni cogeré las flores,
ni temeré las fieras,
y pasaré los fuertes y fronteras.

  ¡Oh bosques y espesuras,
plantadas por la mano del amado!

und lässt mich in Tränen zurück?
Wie der Hirsch hast du das Weite gesucht,
nachdem du mich gekränkt hast:
flehend folgte ich dir, jedoch du warst entschwunden.

Hirten, wer immer ihr auch seid,
dort bei den Herden auf den Hügeln:
Solltet ihr ihn sehen,
ihn, den ich mehr als alles liebe,
so sagt ihm, dass ich leide und vor Kummer vergehe.

Auf der Suche nach meiner Liebe
werde ich durch Wälder und Auen gehen;
weder Blumen werde ich brechen,
noch mich fürchten vor wildem Getier,
