Ich saß ihr gegenüber und schaute ihr ins Aug', da ward der Blick ihr trüber, und meiner ward es auch. Ich fragte sie: "Geliebte, was feuchtet dir das Aug'?" Sie sprach: "Was deines trübte, das feuchtet meines auch. Nicht Leiden, Teurer, wähne auf meines Herzens Grund; für Liebe spricht die Träne beredter als der Mund.
