Strophe
Quand du myrte d’Éros la vierge est couronnée,
     Et, sous le lin éblouissant,
S’approche en souriant des autels d’hyménée,
Les Kharites en chœur conduisent en dansant
     Son innocente destinée.
Son cœur bondit de joie ; et l’Époux radieux
La contemple, l’admire et rend grâces aux dieux!

Antistrophe
Sous le toit nuptial le trépied d’or s’allume ;
     La rose jonche les parvis.
Les rires éclatants montent, le festin fume ;
Un doux charme retient les convives ravis
     Aux lieux que l’Épouse parfume.
Salut, toi qui nous fais des jours heureux et longs,
Divin frère d’Éros, Hymen aux cheveux blonds !
