Ave Maria
 (Sung text for setting by E. Köllner)
 Matches base text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Es sinkt der Tag; zum letzten Mal
Bescheint die Sonn' noch Feld und Wald,
Die Nebel steigen aus dem Thal.
Ein Glöcklein plötzlich hell erschallt:
Ave Maria!

Und ehern reiht sich Klang an Klang,
Es tönet hier, es tönet dort,
Es schallt den stillen Wald entlang,
Und in den Lüften klingt es fort:
Ave Maria!

Es bricht die Nacht nun langsam ein,
Der erste Stern am Himmel blinkt,
Wie friedlich ruhen Feld und Hain;
Das letzte Glöckchen leis' verklingt:
Ave Maria!
