Language: English
When the merry birds are singing On ev’ry flowery spray, And the yellow cowslips swinging Down ev’ry grassy way, When the world is bright with Spring’s delight, And hearts are fond and free, Then a tender strain from hill and plain Floats down to you and me. ‘Tis the call of the gay time, playtime, May-time, Call of the May-time sweet, Through glen and glade and sylvan shade She comes with dancing feet. Oh! she trips along with lilting song And music soft and clear, Come away! come away! come away! come away! Blossom time is here. When the little flow’rs are dreaming, And joyous birds are dumb, When the silver moon is gleaming, And the starry night has come, Then hand in hand through fairyland, Enchanted lovers stray, And follow still, as the ever will, The magic call of May ‘Tis the call of the gay time, playtime, May-time, Call of the May-time sweet, Through glen and glade and sylvan shade She comes with dancing feet. Oh! she trips along with lilting song And music soft and clear, Come away! come away! come away! come away! Spring1is here! Spring is here! Love and Spring are here!
