L'adieu du matin
(Sung text for setting by Pessard)
 Matches base text
Language: French (Français)
Le matin, dès que je te quitte,
Songeant aux longs ennuis du jour,
Je dis au soir : « Ah! reviens vite,
Et ramène-moi mon amour. »
Et pendant toute la journée,
Ton dernier mot d'adieu me suit,
Et dans mon âme abandonnée,
J'entends ce mystérieux bruit.
Bruit d'adieu, que mon cœur sonore
Sent à ses parois attaché
Comme un cristal qui vibre encore
Longtemps après qu'on l'a touché.
