Maiwanderung
(Sung text for setting by F. Abt)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Im Freien, drauss, im Freien,
Wie ist's so schön und licht,
Im Maien, ach, im Maien,
Wer möchte wandern nicht?

Grüß' Gott, ihr lieben Räume,
Grüss Gott, du dunkler Wald,
Ihr Felder und ihr Haine,
Ihr Berge, grau und alt.

Nicht länger könnt' ich tragen
Die Sehnsucht in der Brust.
Wer fänd' bei solchen Tagen
In schwülen Häusern Lust?

Nun rauscht, ihr meine Bäume,
Nun duft', du bunter Hain,
Nun lasst, ihr lieben Räume,
Mich ganz den Euren sein..
