Il Genio degli Stati Veneti all’Entrata delle Truppe Austriache in Venezia
 (Sung text for setting by A. Salieri)
 Matches base text
Language: Italian (Italiano)
Larva di libertà, che ostenti invano
Le non tue forme, e le native ascondi;
Poi di sangue e velen la terra inondi,
Figlia d‘ira, e d‘orgoglio, idolo insano!

E tu, sogno volgar torbido e vano,
Ugualità ch‘ogni dover con- fondi;
I tene al fidilete ai gorghi im- mondi;
O lido ad infettar barbaro, e strano.

Santo Ver! bella Fe! Veniste omai
L‘ombre malnate, e i vaneg- gianti errori
Co‘ vostri a disgombrar limpi- di rai.

Austriaco sol, che il nostro cielo indori,
Splendi fausto, e sereno; e ognor vedrai
Liberi, e uguali in adorarti i cori.
