Lied des Sultans
 (Sung text for setting by F. Weingartner)
 Matches original text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Der Guguck ist ein braver Mann,
Der sieben Weiber brauchen kann;
Die erste kehrt die Stube aus,
Die zweite wirft den Unflath 'naus;
Die dritte nimmt den Flederwisch,
Und kehrt des Guckuck seinen Tisch;
Die vierte bringt ihm Brod und Wein,
Die fünfte schenkt ihm fleißig ein;
Die sechste macht sein Bettlein warm,
Die siebente schläft in seinem Arm.
