Auf'm Düngerhaufen kraht der Hahn sein stolzes Kikeriki: „Ös Henderln alle, schaut's mi an, der schönste Mann bin i! So reich wie i kann niemand sein, a Fürst beneidet mi; der ganze Misthaufen g'hört ja mein, und ös a! Kikeriki! Mi fürcht'n d' Leut', wann i im Zorn, i aber fürcht' mi nie; die Welt is nur erschaffen word'n z'weg'n meiner, kikeriki!“ So kraht er in sein'm stolzen Wahn vom Misthaufen herab; da kommt die Köchin, fangt den Hahn, geht her und sticht ihn ab!
