Der Einsamwandelnde
 (Sung text for setting by F. Hensel)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Der liebe Mond vom Himmel
wohl still zuir Erde scheint,
wo mancher Busen seufzet,
so manches Auge weint.

Im Herzen wohnte Liebe,
und nun so tot, so leer!
Im Auge lachte Freude,
und nun so tränenschwer!

Ich gehe so verlassen,
es fehlt mir gar zu sehr!
Ich such, ach, ich suche
und find' es nimmermehr!

Die Erde ist so düster,
das Auge so verweint;
zum Monde lass mich blicken,
der still zur Erde scheint.
