by Johanna Voigt (1854 - 1939), as Johanna Ambrosius

Ach, säh'st du mich nur einmal an
(Sung text for setting by A. Maurice)
 Matches original text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ach säh'st du mich nur einmal an
Mit deinen Zaubersternen,
Wie wollt ich freud'gen Mutes dann
Das Leben tragen lernen.

Für einen Kuß von deinem Mund
Könnt' ich das Meer bewegen,
Die schönsten Perlen aus dem Grund
Zu deinen Füßen legen.

Und könnt' mit meinen Liedern all'
Ich deine Lieb' erringen,
Ich würde wie die Nachtigall
Mich gleich zu Tode singen.

Composition:

Set to music by Alphonse Maurice (1856 - 1905), "Ach, säh'st du mich nur einmal an", op. 55 no. 2

Text Authorship:

  • by Johanna Voigt (1854 - 1939), as Johanna Ambrosius, "Du"
