Sängers Wunsch
(Sung text for setting by B. Randhartinger)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wenn ein kalter Wind aus Norden
Sausend durch die Blätter zieht,
Flüchtet nach dem wärmer'n Süden
Sich das Vöglein mit dem Lied.

Könnte doch nur auch der Dichter,
Daß nichts Schlimmes ihm geschieht,
Sich vor jedem frost'gen Herzen
Flüchten stets mit seinem Lied.

Composition:

Set to music by Benedikt Randhartinger (1802 - 1893), "Sängers Wunsch"

Text Authorship:

  • by Johann Nepomuk Vogl (1802 - 1866), "Sängers Wunsch ", appears in Lyrische Gedichte, in Lenz und Wald. Drei Liederkränze, in 2. Zweiter Liederkranz
