Melopée
(Sung text for setting by S. Fróes)
 Matches base text
Language: French (Français)
La lune des cieux
Répand sa lumière,
Le bois des aïeux
Lui parle en mystère
   Profond.

Un vent doux murmure
Lointain, moribond,
La tendre nature
Se plaint, se morfond,
   Sur terre.

Les dieux sont cruels,
lls vont impassibles ;
J'en sais des mortels
Comme eux insensibles
   Aux pleurs.

Pitié pour mon rêve ...
Hélas! de ces fleurs
Un soupir s'élève
En longues senteurs
   Paisibles.

Gardez, ô sentiers
Et toi, forêt sombre,
Ses pas familiers,
Ses traces sans nombre
   D'alors.

Car celle que j'aime
M'a fui sans remords ...
Mon cœur, anathème
Allons vers les morts,
   Vers l'ombre.
