Sonst und jetzt
(Sung text for setting by B. Randhartinger)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ja, es blüht derselbe Frühling,
und dieselbe Sonne lacht,
und dieselben Sterne glänzen
in der traulich stillen Nacht.

Und dieselbe Morgenröte
küsst den Tau von duft'ger Flur,
und dieselben bunten Sänger
jubeln froh in der Natur.

Ich nur habe mich gewandelt,
ich nur bin derselbe nimmer;
nur allein mich hat verlassen
dieses Daseins Freudenschimmer.

Weit von dem geträumten Glücke
und der heimatlichen Flur
blieb von frühen schöner'n Tagen
die Erinnerung mir nur.

Note for stanza 3, line 2, word 4: in Randhartinger's score, "dieselbe" is given below "derselbe".
