Vintervisa
 (Sung text for setting by H. Tham)
 See original
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Vind och hvita vågor
stredo nyss på sjön;
blåa bryggor blänka
nu kring öde ön.
Smidig skida skön
öfver slätten slinter.
Vacker är vår vinter
och så frisk är snön.

 ...

Det är skarpt i skogen,
där jag går idag,
rim i håret hängde,
som en björn är jag;
Hugger friska slag,
och den gröna granen
faller vid om manen
för min yxas slag.

Composition:

    Set to music by Hélène Tham (1843 - 1925), "Vintervisa", 1870, stanzas 1,3 [ voice and piano ]
