Der Hungerstern steigt vor der Zeit
und überzählt das Mutterkorn,
die Nacht trägt schwer am Halbmonddorn,
sie bleibt, sooft die Eule schreit,
mit allen Ampeln stehen.
Die Hunde streiten sich im Dorf,
aus blinden Fenstern fällt der Schorf
der Tödin auf die Zehen.
Ihr Schrei treibt vieles in die Flucht,
den Alpdruck und die Hinfallsucht,
auch meinen Heimkehrwagen.
So nah' ging mir die Nacht noch nie,
im Halbtraum beuge ich das Knie,
helf' ihr das Mondkreuz tragen.
