Im Freien
 (Sung text for setting by K. Drobisch)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Kann auch Frühling finster blicken,
kann er strenge sein.
Graue Wolken nicken,
Blumen sagen Nein.

In den Lüften mag es rauschen,
unten grünt und blüht es doch;
Blütenhalme lauschen,
lächeln, duften noch.

Und die Sonne strahlend neiget
sich dem Abend zu,
Wipfel sind geschweiget,
Wolken sind in Ruh'.

Wechselnd freuet sich und trauert
das umstürmte Herz,
aber Freude dauert,
bald verweht der Schmerz.
