Frühlings‑Sehnsucht
 (Sung text for setting by G. Hölzel)
 Matches base text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Der Frühling ist kommen,
der Winter vorbei,
es singen die Vögel
so lustig und frei,
es werden die Wälder
und Felder so grün;
wann wird wohl im Herzen
mein Frühling erblüh'n?

Im Herzen bleibt's Winter,
bleibt's öde und leer,
denn sie, die ich liebe,
ich seh' sie nicht mehr.
Sie gab meiner Seele
einst Wärme und Licht;
ich werd' ihrer gedenken,
bis 's Herze mir bricht.

Composition:

    Set to music by Gustav Adolph Hölzel (1813 - 1883), "Frühlings-Sehnsucht"

Text Authorship:

  • by (Moritz) Albert Motloch (1825 - 1851), as Moritz Albert
