Abschied
 (Sung text for setting by P. Lindpaintner)
 Matches base text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Das Jahr ist nun vorüber,
und mit der Lieb' ist's aus!
Sie sieht nicht mehr herüber,
und ich seh' nicht hinaus.

Ich teile ja mit ander'n
des holden Grußes Glück;
ich will allein nun wandern
und kehre nie zurück.

Zum Abschied drück' ich leise
ihr Händchen weiß wie Schnee.
Wünscht sie mir Glück zur Reise,
wer weiß dann, ob ich geh'!

Composition:

    Set to music by Peter Joseph Lindpaintner (1791 - 1856), "Abschied", op. 71 (6 deutsche Lieder mit Begleitung des Pianoforte ) no. 4 [ voice and piano ]
