Alte Weiber
 (Sung text for setting by C. Weber)
 Matches base text
Language: German (Deutsch)

's is nichts mit den alten Weibern,
bin froh, dass ich keine hab’.
lieber frei’ ich mir’n junges Mädel,
da ich Freud’ darob hab’.

“Miff! Muff!” geht’s im Hause
den ganzen Tag herum;
junge Mädel geh’n halt grade,
alte Weiber geh’n krumm.

Wer so ‘nen alten Schimmel
in seinem Stalle hat,
frisst sich ab sein liebes Leben
und kommt früh ins Grab.

Drum, liebe Junggesellen,
freit, ja, kein’ Alte nicht;
denn ihr müsst sie fein behalten,
bis der Tod ihr’s Herze bricht.
