So fahr ich hin zu Jesu Christ,
mein Arm tu ich ausstrecken.
So schlaf ich ein und ruhe fein,
kein mensch kan mich aufwecken.
Denn Jesus Christus, Gottes Sohn
der wird die Himmelstür auftun,
mich führen zum ewigen Leben.

Note: this text was first published in 1575 as a fifth stanza to Nikolaus Herman's three-stanza hymn text "Wenn mein Stündlein vorhanden ist", which first appeared in in Kirchen Gesang, 1569, Frankfurt am Main.
